The Goliad Massacre
One of the great events of the Texas Revolution. This event is open to scouts, families, and churches. This is a two day event with an awesome nighttime candle light tour. The nighttime tour is limited so be sure you get to the fort early Saturday to purchase tickets. There are three battles on Saturday. One before lunch, one right after, and then the final battle, Coleto Creek. If you want to split your time between the reenactment and other sites, I would suggest touring the fort in the morning and watching the first battle. You can then go visit where you want and then be sure to come back for the last battle. Of course you want to come for the candle light tour. The tours are scheduled. If you can swing it, remember its daylight savings time, so you might want to sign up for tours after 8:30 PM to enjoy the camp fires. Then next morning is the massacre. Make sure you get there on time. We are marched out to the execution site about 1/2 mile away. If you get there late, you will miss it. The reenactment sadly ends around 12:00 noon on Sunday. We have had people show up around 12:00 noon. By then most of the reenactors are worn out and ready to go home. So be early. I've included some links for you. If
you are in the scouts, you can camp at Goliad State park. For families,
the women might want to shop in the Goliad town square. Please leave me
feedback on your experience and I will update this site for next year.
Have fun! http://www.presidiolabahia.org/
